There are time when an injured worker is required to travel a significant distance to receive the necessary medical attention for their work related injury.
AVO is specifically equipped to handle every aspect of the injured workers’ travel from airfare and ground transportation to lodging and even meals. We will establish a comprehensive itinerary based around the medical appointment as well as any medical restrictions the injured worker may have.
The role of an interpreter goes much further than simply conveying one language into another. Medical Interpreters are tasked with facilitating communication between injured workers with limited English proficiency (LEP) and their physicians, nurses, lab technicians, other healthcare providers as well as their primary claims handler. Because of the ever growing number of LEP workers, the need for qualified interpreters has grown swiftly over the last decade.
Gary L. Nelson, RN, CCM, has 25 years of experience in the Medical and Insurance industries with 19 Years in the Workers Compensation Arena.
Nelson’s experience in the worker’s compensation arena allows him a unique understanding of the client needs. Nelson started in the Rehabilitation industry in 1989, and from 1995 to 2005 he specialized in field medical case management with a focus on catastrophic cases.
In 2006 he joined STOPS, Transportation & Translations Services that grew from 4 million in revenue to 45 million. His successful management style and industry knowledge allow him to take the lead with AVO.
Over 25 years of services in the Workers Compensation industry CDMS (Certified Disability Management Specialist) CCM (Certified Case Manager)
Began in 1987 as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in Florida. 1992-1999 Co-Founded Caminiti & Jarvis Associates which provided case management services throughout the Southeastern United States.
1999-2010 Co-Founder & President of STOPS, INC., Transportation & Translation Services. During his tenure STOPS, INC. in 2004 was number 35 in INC 500 and was listed continuing years.
Fast Track LLC was founded in 2003 supplying Vehicle Conversions & Home Modifications for the disabled. Fast Track LLC was also listed in INC 5000. STOPS, Inc and Fast Track LLC, were purchased in 2010 by an investment group. They continue to be the industry leader in Nationwide Transportation & Translation Services.
Fred Schafer has over 15 years of experience leading/managing large logistic, contracting and customer service workforces, with the majority of those years focused on providing services to workers compensation companies and affiliates
Prior to joining AVO, Schafer was a key member of STOPS Enterprises/One Call Care Management from 2007-2014, where he helped drive the success and growth of both companies operational business units
Today Schafer leads a cross functional team of contracting and service specialists committed to delivering superior customer service while impacting cost containment through contract negotiations and network steerage
Matt has over 10 years of sales and marketing experience in the Workers’ Compensation Industry.
Prior to joining AVO, Matt was the Regional Vice President of Sales for One Call Care Management, where he was responsible for the multi-product line expansion efforts in a regional market. As a member of the Sales Leadership Team, Matt was successful in implementing numerous growth strategies and cross sell initiatives during his tenure. Previous to this, Matt held various sales positions at STOPS Transportation & Translation Services and MedRisk, Inc.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Public Health from Temple University.
Susan joined AVO as Regional Vice President of Sales in 2015. She has over 21 years of sales and marketing experience in the Worker’s Compensation industry which also includes translation/transportation, managed care, pharmacy benefit programs, implants and durable medical equipment (DME).
Susan has won numerous awards in sales and service throughout her successful career and has helped develop long-standing relationships on a national level.
Prior to joining the elite leadership team at AVO, Susan held national marketing positions with STOPS/One Call Care Management and Preferred Medical Network where she was responsible for generating new business development plans and building strategic partnerships with key customers. Susan is a welcome asset to AVO.
